Just as his previous movies like Anand and Godavari, where Kammula has managed to infuse freshness and vibrancy to Telugu cinema, Happy Days is another such attempt by him. Be it his simple story-telling that is contemporary and strong, Kammula's films pleasantly lack the omnipresent violence in Indian cinema and this makes family viewing possible. Happy Days is one such movie in the Kammula genre. It is a movie that is based on the students' lives, their relationships, during their undergraduate lives.
